Markel Susaeta Laskurain, born December 14, 1987 in Eibar, is a Basque midfielder playing for Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.
Coming through the ranks of Athletic he was given his debut on September 2 2007 away at FC Barcelona. He managed to score Athletic's only goal in a game Athletic lost 3-1. At the start of the 2007-08 season he is registered for Athletic's B team, Bilbao Athletic, who currently plays in the Segunda DivisiÃ³n B. He has, however, been given the number 27 jersey for when he plays for the first team.
