He is a Turkish football player. He plays as a striker.

Halil Altıntop (born December 8, 1982 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany) is a Turkish national footballer playing for Bundesliga team Schalke 04. He is the identical twin brother of footballer Hamit Altıntop. Halil started his professional career in the local German club Wattenscheid 09 along with his brother. As successful performances grabbed the attention of bigger clubs, Halil was transferred to Kaiserslautern, and his brother to Schalke 04. Halil, who plays as a striker, is a lethal finisher. Halil finished third highest scorer in the Bundesliga for the 2005/2006 season with 20 goals. At the end of that season he joined his brother at Schalke 04 on a free transfer. However, after only one season, his brother Hamit Altintop joined FC Bayern Munich on another free deal.
