Denny Landzaat

Denny Domingoes Landzaat (born May 6, 1976 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch football player. Landzaat was educated in Ajax's youth academy. He currently plays for Wigan Athletic having previously played for AZ and is also a regular in the Dutch national team. He joined Wigan on July 18, 2006. His first few performances proved rather disappointing, failing to live up to his expectations. This was typified by his late penalty miss at Fulham FC, which luckily didn't prove too costly, in a 1-0 victory. However, later in the 2006/2007 season, he began to show glimpses of what led to Wigan Athletic buying him in the Summer. He scored his first goal for Wigan Athletic against Reading FC in a 2-3 loss on 30 January 2007. He followed this up with a 30 yard stunner at the Emirates Stadium in a 1-2 defeat to Arsenal on February 11, 2007.
He is of Dutch-Indonesian extraction; Dutch parentage from father.
