Boubacar Sanogo (born December 17, 1982 in Dimbokro) is an Ivorian football player. Starting his career in Tunisia, he went to Al-Ain in UAE, where he became well-known winning the Asian Cup and being a top goalscorer in the UAE League. An attacker, he played for FC Kaiserslautern during the 2005/06 season, scoring 10 goals in 24 games, a performance that caught the attention of high level German clubs. Then he was transferred to Hamburger SV in the summer of 2006.
After a disappointing season 2006/07 he switched to Werder Bremen for a fee of 4,5 Mio Euro which can rise up to 6 Mio Euro.
Being from the North of Ivory Coast (as opposed to most of nowadays Ivory Coast National Team partners), Bouba never had a really good chance in the Ivory Coast National Team, but, as with his fellow partners (Abdulkader Keita, Aruna Dindane,..), he should become a major asset of the National Team in the years to come.
Playing for Al Ain FC of UAE, he helped win the AFC Champions League in 2003.
